Overview
Solid Security is the former name of the WordPress security plugin now presented in the official directory as Kadence Security. The plugin provides login protection, two-factor authentication, brute-force defences, vulnerability awareness, file-change monitoring, user security controls, and selected hardening features, with additional capabilities in paid editions. It can strengthen a WordPress installation, but no security plugin replaces prompt updates, least-privilege access, reliable backups, secure hosting, and incident response. Configuration should be tested carefully because aggressive lockouts or hardening rules can affect legitimate users, integrations, or administrative access. WPResources should retain the existing slug for continuity but consider updating the visible product name after an editorial review of the rebrand. WordPress.org currently reports 700,000+ active installations for the repository plugin, under its current Kadence Security branding.
